It has been a long time ago since Adria Bike Marathon Plitvice has become an unavoidable event for mountain bike lovers. Professionals, “wanna be” professionals and amateurs of all kinds and genders gather that weekend in Korenica to traditionally celebrate Biking day.
Biking day indeed. No one comes to Plitvice alone, and yet to be assured, no one leaves alone. Teams formed into sport clubs, associations or simple groups of friends are inhabiting lovely houses in surroundings as over the years Plitvice became one huge party place. A place to share passion for biking and racing, experiences from excursions and discuss and recommend the knowledge on bike equipment as well as anything else attached to this wonderful hobby and sport.
And then, on Sunday, the magic moment of sharing common experience starts. Battle with a stopwatch, with a friend, with eternal rival, battle with a trail, with yourself or with a ghosts of the previous night starts. But as soon as the judges let the race go and in that moment silence takes over, nothing is there except the sound of chains and the tires and the feeling that every time reminds you on a reason you love biking so much.
